Yep, I’m closing the blog down. Not for any bad reason, but for a variety of good ones. I began this blog to help me deepen my understanding of racial issues, and it has. You guys have, and for that I am deeply grateful.
If I have a failing as a pundit its that I don’t enjoy repeating myself ad nauseum. I feel like I said everything I had to say in this context and that it was time to move on and get back to activism.
And so we are, we will be moving soon to Indianapolis to help grow the Hoosier Nation, the Indiana chapter of the CofCC. As you might imagine we’re pretty excited.
So thank you all for your tips, comments and arguments. For reading this blog and my inane scribblings. I hope you got as much out of it as I did and stay tuned, the best is yet to come!

Well, what can I say old man?.I’m stunned, gobsmacked, disapointed, pissed off even. You are probably my favourite blog, and you have some great followers, I really enjoy reading some of the comments.
I understand that it can feel a bit repetitive, but, for those of us that follow blogs like yours it is the only thing that keeps us sane, knowing that someone else out there shares our concerns, our frustration, our anger.
Sometimes it’s good to come on and just let rip at a story, even if you do go a bit over the top.
Sometimes a post will lead to an interesting debate, and it’s good that we don’t always agree on everything, but at the same time I think that we are all very much “birds of a feather”.
I am sad that you are going, and the loss of your blog will leave a gap in my daily routine. I will miss you, in the short time that I have been visiting your site you have become like an old friend.
I hope you will reconsider (I’m not sure, but I think they DO have broadband in Indianapolis), but if the die is cast, the seal is set , I would like to be among the first to thank you for your hard work, and for giving a sad old bugger like me an island of sanity, of interest of, pleasure every evening.

You’re a hothead but your passion is what keeps the flame alive. Political movements need idealists and pragmatics to make it and you are definitely the idealist (I’m the pragmatic btw). Like Gringo Malo, I’ve been travelling and missed this post. Sorry to see the blog close, but I think you’re making the absolute best move you could make. It’s time to move up from blogging to real-world activism, and Matt Parrott is, in my view, the best we have in that field. Apart from being probably the most literate and prolific blogger. You’ll be in good company. I look forward to reading your future contributions at Hoosier Nation. Maybe at Occidental Dissent, too?
