What Does Real Diversity Look Like?

Posted by The Man On August - 10 - 2009

As I’ve often said: if you import a hostile minority into a democracy they will eventually become somebodies constituency, its only a matter of time

On Friday July 11th, 2009, Ireland passed the Defamation Bill by one vote. One of the aspects of this bill would make it illegal to criticize religion… any religion under penalty of fines up to 25,000 Euros. That is the equivalent to nearly $35,000.

You’re probably thinking, as I did, how bad can it be, right? Heh…

This part of the bill makes it illegal to criticize any religion either verbally or in writing. Saying anything in which a “substantial number” of followers might find offensive would now be a crime in the Ireland. But the bill goes even further….

Hmmm, who might those “followers” be? Any guesses?

Related but not exactly the same. As Professor Putnam tells us

This is a contentious finding in the current climate of concern about the benefits of immigration. Professor Putnam told the Financial Times he had delayed publishing his research until he could develop proposals to compensate for the negative effects of diversity, saying it “would have been irresponsible to publish without that.”

The core message of the research was that, ‘in the presence of diversity, we hunker down’, he said. ‘We act like turtles. The effect of diversity is worse than had been imagined. And it’s not just that we don’t trust people who are not like us. In diverse communities, we don’t trust people who do look like us.’

Prof Putnam found trust was lowest in Los Angeles, ‘the most diverse human habitation in human history’, but his findings also held for rural South Dakota, where ‘diversity means inviting Swedes to a Norwegians’ picnic‘.

And the truth is that not only isn’t Diversity Strength but it is in fact a structural weakness, a social termite eating and destroying our way of life. It has done its work in England reducing their lower classes to the level of near beasts, so why exactly should we be welcoming it here. On these issues Europe and Britain lead the way and I promise you, other than the true believers and the parasites, no one over there, is “Celebrating Diversity.”
