They write…
There’s no way to prove it, of course, but I’d say they desperately wanted to include as much diversity as they could in this list. But lookie, lookie — when it comes to finding a good place to raise your kids, 8 out of the 10 have a moderate to extreme white majority. The only 2 they could find to force onto the list to “prove” that diversity is good were #2 Arcadia, CA (where White and Asians are roughly equal), and Honolulu (Asian majority).
Another interesting note is regarding the foreign-born population. The highest are 44% (Arcadia), 25% (Honolulu), 20% (Quincy) and 18% (Beaverton) — the rest range from 4%-7% — and 3 of those 4 with higher numbers have, you guessed it, top-2 populations of Whites & Asians.
Wow, who knew Yahoo Real Estate was so racist?
Then again by that standard reality itself is racist.

Honolulu got improved with fewer schools days from teacher furloughs because of state budget cuts. During off days the students can think about the benefits of diversity for state and personal budgets.
I wonder what the profiles for the ten worst places would look like.
Well, Detroit comes to mind if you take my meaning, as does LA.
