Our good blog friend Smitty over at The Other McCain posting on the rather amusing/horrifying Naval diversity story we posted on yesterday has this to say on the subject of race and racial differences…

Human diversity cannot exceed 23 chromosomes. Anyone continuing to perpetuate the myth that the thin veneer of genetic variation that makes people physically distinguishable Means Anything needs to go take a biochemistry course and disabuse themselves of their medieval notions.

And what “medieval notions” would those be Smitty? That there are obvious and easily observable differences between the races? La Griffe Du Lion, noted blogger statistician and “medieval scholar” has called observable racial differences the “most consistent observed Sociological constant going.”

While in his FAQ on IQ and race Steve Sailer says…

If the sample sizes are big enough and all else is equal, a higher IQ group will virtually always outperform a lower IQ group on any behavioral metric.

With my penchant for brevity I simply call this “The Pattern.”

I could just link to one of the many articles where I rehash the obvious but I think there is a value in repetition, no difference in race Smitty? K, riddle me these then…

More Diversity Among 2009 SAT Test-Takers, Scores Slightly Down

California math scores among the lowest

California consistently has ranked among the lowest-scoring states in the biennial National Assessment of Educational Progress, a federally mandated assessment of a sampling of fourth- and eighth-graders across the country.

The College Board recently released the average 2009 SAT scores by race and ethnicity and the gap between Black and Latino students versus white and Asian students has widened, despite the College Board’s recent efforts to change questions to eliminate cultural bias.

SAT scores still low for African-American youth

Why is this important? Because Smitty’s statement is demonstrably untrue, it is in fact a lie. It may be a noble lie, but it is a lie nonetheless. I understand the impulse, the truth I have so brutally demonstrated here is depressing, it sucks, but it’s also reality and as Conservatives we are supposed to deal with reality, not pleasant fantasies. What Smitty offered was pure fantasy and even the story he linked to made my point not his…

Two members of the color guard were removed and replaced by a Pakistani and a woman to achieve the requisite “diversity.” The Pakistani unfortunately forgot his cap and shoes. He himself had to be replaced at the last minute by one of the two middies removed earlier

*Cough-Cough* Why I’m feeling positively medieval here. I want to specifically note this from Smitty…

Making decisions based upon the color of peoples’ skin is false, false, and false.

And yet we all, every one of us, do it hundreds of times every single day. it would be easier to jump over the moon than to not make judgments and evaluations based on race, its what we humans do. This is not only not a “Conservative” position, taken seriously it would actually more resemble a form of mental illness, not tolerance or egalitie.

I’ll double down on my point. I claim, with gold-medal hand-waving, that the Political Correctness on display here is a diluted form of the institutional falsehood that helped create the context for last week’s Fort Hood tragedy.

I do agree, but the Political Correctness present in this post perpetuate stereotypes just as dangerous as the ones pursued by the military. It does no one any favors to pretend that racial differences don’t exist and as far as I’m concerned when a high IQ person sneers at racial and IQ realities I can only hope they haven’t actually thought it through because if they have its extraordinarily obnoxious.

It is just as much a form of hand waving to assert that a bio-chem course would disprove racial and cultural realities, seriously, that’s the argument you want to go with, seriously? Because its not merely a loser but an embarrassing stinker at that.

Yes there are racial and ethnic differences and these things are not only skin deep but are in many ways drivers for our deepest activities and desires. From selecting a spouse to where we live to how well we do in life every one of these things is correlated to race and ethnicity. That is an actual conservative position, race blindness is simply parroting Liberalism and calling it Conservatism.

I will give Smitty two passes, 1.) I am, to some degree, purposely misreading him and I’m aware of it. 2.) He was in the military and I’ve yet to meet a military man or woman that will acknowledge that the military screens for IQ, e.g. a person in the military tends to have a deeply twisted view of race and racial relations because too often they are not aware of how much IQ and intelligence play a role in the military selection process.
