Dan Riehl offers….
But what’s unfortunately becoming increasingly clear is that, for the people who thought Obama’s election would make America post-racial? I’m afraid you’re wrong. Some of the potential racial narratives that may still play out during his presidency might not be that pretty at all.
I can’t say as I’m not concerned that America might not end up more racially divided than we’ve been in 30 years. And that burden is as much, if not more Obama’s to carry as it is anyone else’s.
While Jules Crittendon says…
The moment has arrived for President Obama to start working on his legacy as the first post-racial president. Either that, or to face a legacy of having the most racially divisive presidency in modern American history.
I have two problems with these statements, the first is the imputation of good faith, do we have any evidence whatsoever that this administration gives a flying rat’s patoot about ‘post-racialism’ in any way shape or form?
Or, might Obama’s past associate’s and employment give us a clue as to his true state of mind vis-avia race?
Not to mention the several books he’s written on the subject of his obsession with race.
How stupid would you have to be to actually think this president was interested in anything but using his race as a cudgel to ram through his mendacious socialist plans.
My second problem is the implication that race relations are somehow worse since Obama took office, I think this is not accurate. What’s changed is we are seeing the state of race relations in this country which had been ruthlessly ignored by our alleged Mainstream Media for the last couple of decades.
Now, that a deliciously half Black man has ascended to the presidency we are inundated with stories about Black America and we are learning some things, some unpleasant things. Like for example that Black and White America have almost nothing in common any longer, we watch different TV shows, we read different newspapers, listen to different radio shows, read different books etc. ad nauseum.
Are race relations in America worse, or merely on view?
I would argue the latter, what say you?
This industrial grade family sized stupid needs to be investigated as well, Ann Althouse writes…
Lots of people who voted for Obama believed that his election would reflect the extent to which Americans had moved beyond racism. That was part of why some people voted for him. Little did we realize that it would turn every criticism of the President into an occasion to make an accusation of racism. Racism is revolting, but so is the notion that we aren’t allowed to criticize a President!
Note the ‘we’ in the third sentence, Althouse was one of the ‘voters who voted for this racial dirtbag to prove how enlightened she was?’
Wow, that and a law professorship might almost convince me she has an IQ of about forty. This is one of the dumbest and most embarrassing things I’ve ever had the misfortune of reading. Take a moment and really think about what she just admitted, she was willing to ignore the reams of evidence (hey law prof!) and vote for the half Black Rorschach test to prove her Liberal bonafides, to prove she thinks the right thoughts this idjit voted for what will become easily the worst presidency in the history of this republic.
Nicely played Ma’am, nicely played! I’m sure the fact that you are an actual racist hasn’t even penetrated your thick skull yet, has it? This is actual racism, to do or not do something because of the color of someone’s skin, get it? Its not actually all that complicated. But then again I suppose expecting actual intelligence from a mere law prof might just be asking too much?
